The Foodie Oasis
Where better to head for a leisurely mid-week dinner with friends than uber-charming Heddon Street? Tucked just off of Regent Street, it offers a wonderful selection of bijou restaurants, cafes and bars: Aubaine, The Living Room, Strada, Tibits, Strawberry Moons, Piccolino, Momo, Below Zero, and La Locando all call Heddon Street home. (One of my favourite places for a late dinner after the theatre.)
Urban French Chic
We chose Aubaine (a personal favourite of mine) for non-fussy French dinning. The service is always wonderfully friendly and the food never disappoints. My friend Amandine and I have a system of ordering several starters and mains and sharing them tapas-style: A perfect way to explore the menu! We can whole-heartedly recommend; The Pyreneenne Coppa, and the Crab Cakes (on special) to start, with the Feuillete of Goat's Cheese and the Lobster Spaghetti as mains. (By "whole-heartedly," I can tell you there wasn't a crumb left on the plate.) We chose a lovely Brouilly Chateau de Pierreux to compliment our dinner. Yup,--we might have also thrown in one of their decadent patisseries for good measure to complete the experience. (As you finish your main course, the waiter devilishly brings a platter of the most mouth-watering patisseries to your table available for selection --nearly impossible to resist.)
It's a Café Life for Me!
If you are not seduced by the overall ambiance of this chic French eatery, the brilliantly crafted menu will seal the deal. Go to London's Heddon Street and enjoy Aubaine.
