The Breakfast Club Brunch

Breakfast Club

So today was the wettest, most grey off all London days.  When faced with the options of TV/sofa-suffering (Imagine an afternoon of Murder She Wrote and back-to-back episodes of Charmed) or meeting a friend in Clapham for brunch; the choice was obvious. We decided to meet at The Breakfast Club on Battersea Rise.  A chain of retro-styled restaurants that hark back to all things 80's cool.

80's Retro Styling

So, stepping inside the restaurant was like stepping back into my 80's childhood. It all felt too familiar in a very comforting way.  (I felt like I was inside an old-school Heinz commercial.)  The service was casual and friendly and the menu had a wide selection of guilty pleasures and good old-fashioned comfort food.

The Full Monty

With The Full Monty (bacon, sausage, black pudding, eggs, home-style fried potatoes, mushrooms, beans, grilled tomato and toasted multigrain bloomer for £ 9.70), you will not leave the table hungry!!  I am a sucker for a full breakfast and this one ticked all the right boxes. (Even the toast arrived still warm ...so the butter could melt into its dense grains.)

The Breakfast Club

Must thank my friend Blair for the fab brunch suggestion. (She's doing the HAPPY breakfast dance in this photo) Cleverly, The Breakfast Club works throughout the day into the evening with a bar/cocktail area.  We WILL be back!

Yours truly,

Lord Frewbe
